Mental health can quickly deteriorate under these conditions, which is why the hospitality industry is leading on the importance of prioritising employee health and well-being.
As part of Deputy’s latest report, The Big Shift: The Changing Landscape of Australian Hospitality, 93% of Australian workers say emotional and mental wellbeing is as important as pay.
And this statistic pays off, with further research stating employers who prioritise the wellbeing of their staff are 4.4 times more likely to have higher profit margins within their business. It has become expected that businesses take care of their staff.
