Shark Tank Victory Propels Aussie Skincare Brand to Millionaire Status

The “wildcard” skincare brand that captivated investors on Shark Tank Australia has surpassed $1 million in revenue despite ultimately opting out of any deals.

Founded by skincare content creator David Rooney, Boring Without You has experienced exponential growth since receiving four offers on the show.

“Our flagship multi-mask has seen a staggering 750% year-over-year increase in sales, and that’s with one product,” says Rooney. “That’s incredible because when we started three years ago, we were considered a bit of a wildcard.”

He attributes that success to a focus on evidence-based skincare for combination skin.

“About 70 percent of people have combination skin, yet you really have to comb the shelves for evidence-based products that target this skin type, despite a saturated skincare market,” says Rooney. “It’s the neglected middle child of skincare, but that’s what we’re changing.”

“The mask has become a ‘holy grail’ product for so many people with combination skin because we’ve formulated it to be exactly that. But dare I say it —  our two new products are about to prove even more popular.”

Make Me Wet™ AQUAPORIN Hydrating Milk Serum: A revolutionary serum that utilises Aquaporin hydration technology to visibly enhance the skin’s ability to hydrate itself.

Face Flood™ AQUAPORIN Soothing Hydrating Gel Moisturiser: A pink lightweight gel moisturiser that reinforces the skin barrier and provides soothing hydration without congestion and shine.

Both products feature the company’s unique BioSymmetry Advance™ – a complex designed for combination skin that minimises the look of pores and oil while hydrating and calming skin at the same time.
